The "My Profile" page shows your details in one place: your name, e-mail, phone, language and currency. This explains what each row means and how each one is changed.
Why are they not all edited in the same place?
The name you change right here. Your e-mail and phone are what you sign in with, so each has its own verified steps with a code sent to you.
Step one: open Account settings
After signing in, click your name at the top of the page and choose Account settings.
Step two: read your identity card
A card appears listing your details row by row. Next to the name there is an Edit button; next to the e-mail and phone there is a Change link that takes you to the verified steps.
Step three: edit your name
Press Edit next to the name and a small dialog opens. Type your new name and press Save name. The card updates straight away.
Saved
A confirmation appears and the name updates on the card without reloading the page.
What each row means
- Name: the name shown to you in the control panel and used in our messages. Change it here at any time.
- E-mail: this is your sign-in name, and invoices and alerts go to it. It changes through verified steps with a code sent to the new address.
- Phone: used for short alerts, and it changes through a code sent to the new number.
- Language and currency: they set the panel language and the currency your invoices are shown in, and you change them from the switchers at the top of the page.
Company details are separate
Company name, tax number and address are not on this page, because they are billing details and appear on the invoice. They have their own page.
Worth knowing
- The name needs no verification code, because it is a display name and is never used to sign in.
- The name cannot be left empty; you will get a message if you try.
- Changing your name does not affect invoices that were already issued.
- If a name is wrong on an official document, edit your business details rather than this field.
Next step
If you want to change your e-mail or your phone number, each has its own guide.
