Reserved cores

The neighbors can get busy. Your cores remain yours.

A VDS is a cloud machine with its own reserved processor cores. No one borrows them when their traffic spikes, keeping your performance steady. Everything else uses the same platform as our VPS line.

The noisy neighbor

The problem reserved cores solve

On a shared host, processor time is distributed as requested. This works fine until someone demands a lot of it suddenly.

What a busy neighbor costs you

Your work waits behind theirs. Queries that took milliseconds take seconds, requests pile up, and your code has not changed. This happens during their peak hours, making it difficult to reproduce or plan around.

What reserving cores changes

The cores are allocated solely to your machine and stay allocated whether you use them or not. The performance you measure on a quiet Tuesday remains identical on their busiest Friday. This consistency is exactly why this line costs more than a VPS.

What each size includes

Read from the features recorded against these products, ensuring the table and cards always match.

What is reserved, and what is shared

Three things behave differently on a VDS. Everything else runs on the same platform.

Processor

Cores are allocated strictly to your machine. They are never handed to a neighbor when idle, which is exactly what you pay for.

VDS (reserved)
VPS (shared with the host)
Memory

Held for your machine on both lines. A VDS simply offers more memory per plan, because workloads requiring reserved cores typically need the memory too.

VDS (held)
VPS (held)
Disk

NVMe storage is exclusively yours on both lines. Add more as a volume when needed; a volume can expand but never shrink.

VDS (yours)
VPS (yours)
Images

Choose an operating system, change it later

Every image in the console catalog is written directly to the disk. A rebuild asks you to confirm the hostname, then prints a fresh root password once. We never store it.

Ubuntu Ubuntu LTS releases
Debian Debian Stable
AlmaLinux AlmaLinux 9
Rocky Linux Rocky Linux 9
CentOS Stream CentOS Stream 9
The full list What your machine can boot depends on the data center it runs in.

A rebuild wipes the disk. Take a snapshot first if you want your data back.

Where the lines are drawn

A VDS is unmanaged, just like the VPS line. Here is what we manage, and what you control.

The firewall is ours to run

It sits at the network level, ensuring rules apply even while the machine reboots or rebuilds.

The root password is yours alone

A rebuild prints it once, and we keep no copy. We recommend moving to SSH keys and turning off password login.

The hardware and network are ours

The host, the disks, and the network routes are our responsibility, not yours.

The operating system is yours

Patches, packages, and open ports are your decisions. We do not intervene.

Every action is recorded

Power cycles, rebuilds, and firewall changes are logged with the user and timestamp.

Why teams upgrade to a VDS

Reserved cores guarantee consistent speed every day, rather than just peak performance.

Databases stop timing out

A query waiting on a shared core forces other requests to wait. Reserving cores eliminates this variable completely.

Load averages become predictable

When your baseline remains steady, last month's metrics reliably forecast next month's capacity.

Real-time applications stay smooth

Game and voice servers are judged on their worst moments. Those moments are often caused by neighbor traffic spikes.

One machine, one tenant's pace

You still share the host, but you no longer share the processor cores, making performance predictable.

Click it, or call it

Everything the console does to a server, the client API does too.

A REST API

List your servers, read details, and check states directly from your code.

Power and rename

Power on, turn off, reboot, and rename a machine via the API.

Snapshots on demand

Take a snapshot from a deploy script before executing risky changes.

Metrics and firewall

Read the exact graphs and rules shown in the console, and pull them into your own dashboard.

Where your machine runs

0 data centers across 0 countries. Pick one at checkout, and it stays with the machine.
