Drag and drop uploads

Upload directories or single files straight from your computer. Just drag and drop them directly into the browser window.

Built-in code editor

Edit your scripts and configuration files without leaving the browser. Make quick changes to your code directly on the server.

Compress and extract

Package multiple files into a single archive for quick downloads. You can also extract uploaded archives directly on the server.

Fetch from a URL

Download files directly to your server from an external web address. This saves local bandwidth and speeds up transfers.

Search your files

Locate the exact document you need across your entire account. Find misplaced files and folders in seconds.

Rename, move and copy

Structure your directories exactly how you want them. Rename your files and move or copy them easily between folders.

Quick file preview

Check the contents of your documents and images directly in the panel before you download or edit them.

Trash and restore

Deleted items go to the trash so you can restore them if you make a mistake. Empty the trash to free up disk space.

Control file access

Set exactly who can read, write and execute your files. Use our visual permission editor to apply the correct security modes.

644
The safe default

You can write to the file, and everyone else can read it. This is the correct mode for most of your website files.

755
Folders and scripts

You can write to the directory, and everyone else can read and enter it. This is required for most folders to function.

750
Private folders

Your specific group may enter the folder, but others cannot. Use this for private directories that should not be visible to the public.

We strongly warn against setting permissions to 777. This makes your files writable by every process on the server and creates a major security risk.

Common questions about file management

Where do I place my website files?

All public website files must go inside the public_html directory. Files placed outside this folder will not be visible on your website.

What happens if I delete a system folder?

System folders are protected from writes to prevent accidental damage. If a required system folder is removed, you can restore it using the file manager.

Can I lock an FTP user to one folder?

Yes. When you create an FTP account, you lock it to its own start directory. The user cannot navigate outside that specific folder.

How do I connect securely?

You can use SFTP with SSH keys instead of standard FTP. This provides a secure, fully encrypted connection between your computer and the server.

Can I extract archives on the server?

Yes, you can upload a compressed archive and extract it directly in the file manager. You can also select multiple files and compress them into an archive.
