Protect your account with built-in tools
Control who accesses your hosting environment and keep your data safe. Manage certificates, keys, and permissions from one panel.
Protect every layer of your hosting
From network encryption to isolated environments, you control the security rules for your account.
Manage certificates for every domain and subdomain. Request free certificates or install your own custom files.
Password-protect specific folders on your website. Visitors must log in through their browser before the server delivers any content.
Add public keys for secure, passwordless access to your account via SSH and SFTP.
Sign your DNS zones to prevent tampering. Ensure visitors always reach your actual server.
Your terminal runs in an isolated chrooted shell. You cannot access root or other accounts, and sessions require terminal re-authentication.
Filter incoming spam and viruses. Disable the PHP mail() function to stop compromised scripts from sending outbound spam.
One lock for every hostname
See the exact security state of every domain, subdomain, and addon domain connected to your server.
The hostname serves a valid, trusted certificate to visitors.
The certificate is installed but browsers will show a security warning.
No trusted certificate is present. Visitors will see a prominent warning.
Provide your own certificate, private key, and CA chain. We relay your private key to the server once over an encrypted channel and never store it.
We also offer paid DV, OV, and EV certificates for businesses requiring higher validation levels.
See SSL certificatesComplete activity log
Track exactly what happens in your hosting panel. See every configuration change, who made it, and what changed.
- The user who made the change
- The exact time of the action
- The value before and after
Questions about security
Do I need to buy an SSL certificate?
No. You can request free certificates for all your domains directly from the hosting panel. We also support installing your own certificates.
How do you handle private keys for custom certificates?
When you upload a custom certificate, we relay the private key to your server once using an encrypted channel. Hostrena never stores your private key.
Can I log in with an SSH key instead of a password?
Yes. You can add your public SSH keys to the panel. This allows passwordless authentication for both SSH and SFTP connections.
What is a chrooted shell?
It is an isolated environment. When you use the terminal, your access is strictly confined to your own account files, preventing access to the wider server.
How does turning off PHP mail() help?
If a vulnerability in your website code allows an attacker to run a script, they often try to send spam. Disabling this function blocks that outbound spam.
