TTL — Time To Live مدة البقاء (TTL)

Definition

How long (in seconds) resolvers may cache a DNS record before asking again. A 3600 TTL means changes take up to an hour to reach everyone; 300 means five minutes. The migration trick: lower TTL to 300 a day before moving servers, switch the record, then raise it back once traffic stabilizes.
