Everything that keeps a site safe

Your website is hosted. Now keep it safe.

Three services that sit on top of any Hostrena plan — encryption, active protection and a way back when something goes wrong. Add them to a site you already host, or start them with a new one.

SSL Certificates

Every plan issues and renews a certificate automatically, so visitors get the padlock and search engines get the ranking signal. Need an organisation-validated or wildcard certificate instead? Those are available too.

  • Automatic issue and renewal — nothing expires by surprise
  • Covers your domain and its www form
  • Wildcard and organisation-validated certificates available
  • HTTP to HTTPS redirect in one switch
Included on every hosting plan Start hosting with SSL

Website Scan & Protection

A scheduled scan reads every file for known malware and injected code, and a firewall in front of the site drops the traffic that goes looking for it. You get told what was found — not a silent deletion.

  • Scheduled malware and injected-code scan
  • Web application firewall in front of the site
  • Reports name the file and the line, before anything is removed
  • Blocks the common CMS and plugin exploit paths

Website Backup

A copy of your files and databases taken every day and kept off the server that made it. Restoring is one click, and you can restore a single file instead of rolling the whole site back a day.

  • Daily automatic copy of files and databases
  • Stored off the hosting server
  • One-click restore of the whole site
  • Restore a single file or one database on its own

Questions about these services

Do I need to buy SSL separately?

No. Every Hostrena hosting plan issues a certificate for your domain and renews it automatically, at no cost. You only pay when you specifically need a wildcard certificate covering unlimited subdomains, or an organisation-validated certificate that shows your company name in the certificate details.

What happens when the scan finds malware?

You get a report naming the affected files before anything is touched. Automatic removal is something you switch on deliberately — the default is to tell you and let you decide, because a false positive that silently deletes a theme file is worse than the infection it was hunting.

Where are backups stored?

On separate storage, never on the same server that generated them. A server failure that takes your site down does not take the backups with it — which is the entire point of holding a copy.

Can I restore just one file?

Yes. You can restore the whole site to a chosen day, or open a backup and pull back a single file or one database. Overwriting a working site to recover one deleted image is never necessary.

Can I add these to a site I already host with you?

Yes — all three attach to an existing hosting account from your client area. Nothing needs to be migrated or rebuilt, and the site stays online while they are enabled.
