بروتوكول التشفير الذي يؤمّن الحركة بين المتصفحات والخوادم — وهو ما يضع القفل و//:https في شريط العنوان. بقي اسم "SSL" شائعاً لكن كل اتصال حديث يستخدم فعلياً TLS (الإصدار 1.2 أو 1.3). الشهادة إلزامية اليوم: المتصفحات تشهّر بـ HTTP المكشوف، وGoogle يرفع ترتيب المواقع المشفرة.

"SSL" survives as the popular name, but every modern connection actually uses TLS (1.2 or 1.3). A certificate is mandatory today: browsers shame plain HTTP, and Google ranks encrypted sites higher.
