واجهة برمجة التطبيقات هي طريقة متفق عليها يطلب بها برنامج من برنامج آخر معلومة أو تنفيذ عمل، فلا يحتاج أي منهما أن يعرف كيف بُني الآخر من الداخل.
An API is an agreed way for one program to ask another for information or for an action, so neither program needs to know how the other works inside.
